Green Cove Springs Marina is a busy place this week!

January 17th.

YES, we are still here!!!
Last night was our first night sleeping on the boat. We have been living in the RV and working on the boat since we arrived.  When Laughter went in the water on Tuesday the 12th, we were not near done with our projects. I started out neatly moving boxes from the RV a couple at a time, putting them away then going back for more. On Monday evening we found ourselves just stacking the boxes on the boat to prepare for her to go in Tuesday morning.. The generator part that was ordered the week before had still not arrived so we worked at putting things away on the boat while we waited. The boatyard was a madhouse this past week. Boats going in the water, coming out of the water and being moved from the storage yard to the work yard.  We had to move the RV three times and ended up at the back of the yard along the fence.  There are boats surrounding the office, the shower/bathroom building and anywhere else they could squeeze one in. This also made finding a spot to park your car a challenge.
The part came in Thursday, late afternoon, actually Tom went to the local Westerbeke shop to pick it up, and Billy had it in and the generator purring on Friday afternoon.  The plan was to leave yesterday morning. WRONG!  We were fogged in till 12:30. Checking weather found a storm coming in overnight so we thought it best to let it pass through and leave on Sunday morning.
.It is now Sunday afternoon and we are still here. Still plenty to do so not a big big deal but we are anxious to get underway. It is quiet around the marina today. The boatyard is closed on Sunday and the sun has just come out and the winds subsided. Still not warm. I am in a long sleeve shirt, a sweatshirt and jeans with shoes and socks, but better than weather in Indiana right now, right?
P.S. They just put out a freeze warning for Jacksonville. Go further South if your looking for a warm vacation.
This is one of two boats that hide the shower, bathroom, laundry

Boats are lined up on both sides of the road all the way to the fence. They
are three deep on the left side.
boats are crowded in hiding the office building

Laughter going in the water. Always makes me a little nervous

The waves in the marina area outside our window this morning

This is the cement dock. The boatyard used to be a Naval yard for large ships.
If you loo really hard you will see a glimpse of the crane on our boat WAY down
there. That's why I have been averaging 11,000 steps on my fitbit this week. Haha.
